Bio: J. Laurence Hare received his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007. He specializes in Modern European History, with an emphasis on nineteenth- and twentieth-century Germany and a methodological focus on cultural, intellectual, and transnational history. His research seeks new perspectives on the history of German nationalism by placing it within a broader European context and by studying the relationships between nationalist thought and the transnational experiences of intellectuals and scholars. |
