Bio: I am writing a Ph.D. in Architectural Theory and Criticism at the Newcastle University, for which I won the competitive studentship offered by the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape to one candidate only. My research is being supervised by Professor Mark Dorrian (University of Edinburgh) and Dr Katie Lloyd Thomas (Newcastle University). In my thesis, entitled Unfinished Blueprint: Institutionalisation, Management and Appropriation in New Belgrade I am researching transformation of architectural practice’s self-reception and interests in this post-WWII capital of socialist Yugoslavia, by looking at the architectural artefacts as built, unfinished or unbuilt; both construction-bound and discursive, mediated. In the past seven years I have been teaching courses in architectural (alongside cultural) theory, architectural history and design at the University of Belgrade, Newcastle University, University of East London. I hold degrees in: MA Identity, Culture and Power; University College London, School of Slavonic and East European Studies and Graduate Engineer of Architecture (equiv. with MArch) University of Belgrade, Faculty of Architecture Affiliated researcher at: KTH Stockholm, Architecture in Effect Research Environment |
