Bio: I have my Ph.D. and M.A. in Art History from the University of Virginia, specializing in Northern Renaissance and Baroque art history. I am currently a lecturer at Simmons College, Boston teaching introductory surveys, "Art 100: Objects and Ideas-Museum History of Art," as well as "Arts of China and Japan," "Islamic Arts," "Buddhist World Art," and "Art in the Age of Rembrandt." In Spring 2016, I taught "Arts of South Asia" at Brandeis University, where will teach "Age of Rubens and Rembrandt" in Spring 2018. I have previously taught "Italian Renaissance Art," and "Art Administration Seminar: Arts in the Community." Outside the classroom, I serve as Co-Editor and Publisher for a scholarly e-journal, "Open Inquiry Archive," and I deliver public lectures at professional venues, publish traditional academic essays, as well as online reviews, articles and op-ed pieces. I am currently working on two scholarly books: one on Dutch Comic Portraiture, the other a co-authored text on Deformity in Baroque Art. From 2012-2016, I served consecutively as Site Manager, Development Associate, Social Media & Communications Manager, and Interim Associate Development Director at the Sargent House Museum in Gloucester: 1782 home of Judith Sargent Murray (1751-1820), a philosopher, writer and early advocate of women's equality. |
