Bio: Jennifer Newman Treviño received her Ph.D. from Auburn University. She currently teaches at Troy University Montgomery. Her major research and teaching interests include gender, religion, and identity in the Civil War South. Her manuscript entitled, Alabama Women, Self Identity, and Religion During the Civil War, is currently under review with the University of Alabama Press. Her most recent article, “Elizabeth Rhodes: An Alabama Woman in the Civil War,” was published in the Alabama Review. She has presented her research at a various venues throughout the South including the Alabama Historical Association’s meeting in Fairhope and in Daphne, Alabama, the Society of Civil War Historians Conference in Richmond, Virginia, the B. B. Comer Library in Sylacauga, Alabama, and the Lee County Historical Society, among others. |
