Bio: Fitzgerald is a historian of American science and technology, especially 20th century food and agriculture. She is the author of Every Farm a Factory: The Industrial Ideal in American Agriculture (Yale), and The Business of Breeding: Hybrid Corn in Illinois (Cornell). She is the Head of the Program in Science, Technology and Society at MIT, and served as Dean of the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at MIT from 2006 to 2015. |
