Doctor Honoris Causa, National Kapodistrian University of Athens de Atenas (2017). Presently Otis. A. Singletary Chair in the Humanities, University of Kentucky. Author of 3 books: Lombardo Toledano y el movimiento obrero mexicano, 1917- 1940 (1978); From Liberal to Revolutionary Oaxaca: The View from the South, Mexico 1867-1911 (2004); and Mujer y poder en el siglo XIX: La vida extraordinaria de Juana Catarina Romero, Cacica de Tehuantepec (2020). Co-author of Diccionario histórico de la Revolución en Oaxaca (1985). Author of over 50 articles on Latin American and Mexican history. |
