Bio: I’m an emerging photo historian, photographic collections specialist, educator, blogger, street photographer and independent curator researching rare photographic objects, processes, and technologies developed in Meiji Period Japan. I’ve developed and taught courses on the intersection of science, technology and culture at Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology and other institutions. The ROM trained me in advanced digital photomacrography technologies to assist in the study of ancient damaged artefacts such as Oracle bone fragments. I help universities, galleries and private collectors identify, preserve, manage and exhibit their photographic collections. My interest in Japanese art, culture and history stems from my time there from 2003 to 2014. In 2007 I co-founded SoHo Art Gallery in Osaka, and curated contemporary art and photography exhibitions, art exchanges and international art fairs until 2014. |
