Bio: Reuven Kiperwasser received his doctorate from Bar Ilan University in Israel in 2005 (The Midrashim on Kohelet: Studies in their Formation and Redaction). Currently, he is teaching in Ariel University, Israel and is a research associate at Hebrew University, Israel. He was Alexander von Humboldt Fund fellow at Institute of Judaic Studies at the Free University of Berlin, Israel Science Foundation fellow and a fellow in Frankel Institute, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and Hamburg University Maimonides Center of Advanced Studies Fellowship. He specializes in rabbinic literature, and his research interests include especially the interactions between Iranian mythology, Syriac-Christian storytelling, rabbinic narrative, and trans-cultural relationships between cultures of Late Antiquity. His critical edition of Kohelet Rabbah (7-12) with introduction and commentary planned to be published by Schechter publishing house at 2019. He has currently submitted a book about the Babylonian immigrants in Land of Israel and the acceptance of the Other in rabbinic culture. |
