Bio: My name is Jason Kluk, and I am a recent graduate of East Stroudsburg University with a Master of Arts in History. My primary historical interests are in Early American History, primarily centered on the American Civil War. My Master's Thesis focused on the presence and value of local militia units in the Northern states during the Civil War period, and their impact on the war itself. However, in its entirety, my research of militia encompasses the time of British Colonialism in North America through the post-Reconstruction period and into the 21st century United States. My passion for history goes beyond the classroom and into the realm of public history as well. I have been a Civil War reenactor as a member of the 8th Ohio Volunteer Infantry in the National Regiment for seven years. Additionally, I assist with Kent State University's annual trip to Colonial Williamsburg, appearing in 18th century period dress. |
