William Alexander Norfolk State University The Department of History at Norfolk State University seeks to hire a tenure-track faculty member at the rank of assistant or associate professor in post-Civil War American or African American history to begin August 2014. The successful candidate will teach survey and upper-division undergraduate courses in American and African-American history and will participate in departmental initiatives on African diaspora history and culture. A preference will be given to scholars who have a secondary teaching field in non-Western or public history. Applicants must show a potential for or record of scholarship as well as evidence of innovative teaching and technology skills. PhD in History or African American History required by time of appointment.
