Bio: Cody Ferguson is a postdoctoral fellow in public and environmental humanities at Arizona State University. He is an environmental historian who is interested in the history of the United States and American West, social movements, and the complicated intersections of civic engagement, politics, environmental justice and sustainability. He is currently in the process of revising his dissertation for publication. Entitled "'This is Our Land, We Have the Right to be Heard': Community-based Environmental Activism in the Late-Twentieth Century," it considers the role of grassroots conservation organizations in the American environmental movement and civil society between 1970 and 2000. He received a Masters degree in history from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff in 2007 and a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Carroll College in Helena, Montana in 2001. |
