Bio: Thomas Deutscher received his Ph.D. in history from the University of Toronto in 1978. He was the associate editor of Contemporaries of Erasmus: a Biographical Register of the Renaissance and Reformation, P.G. Bietenholz editor, University of Toronto Press, 1985-1987. He has published a number of articles on the clergy and seminaries of the Piedmontese diocese of Novara in The Journal of Ecclesiastical History, the Catholic Historical Review, and Renaissance Quarterly. His monograph, Punishment and Penance: Two Phases in the History of the Bishop's Tribunal of Novara, will be published by the University of Toronto Press in summer, 2012. |
