Bio: Gilda L. Ochoa is Professor of Sociology and Chicana/o-Latina/o Studies at Pomona College where she works on education, communities, and race/ethnicity. The author of Becoming Neighbors in a Mexican American Community (University of Texas Press, 2004) and Learning from Latino Teachers (Jossey-Bass, 2007) and co-editor of Latina/o Los Angeles (University of Arizona Press, 2005), she has also written on critical pedagogy and Latina/o parent and student organizing. She is currently working on a book-length manuscript on Asian American and Latina/o high school students. |
