Bio: M.A. degree in American Studies and Sport Studies at the University of Tübingen, Germany. In 2000 PhD degree on “German Turnen in the United States”. Presently she is a full professor for Sports Studies at the Ludwigsburg University of Education in Germany. Annette Hofmann is the President of the International Society for the History of Sport and Physical Education (ISHPES) and a Vice President of the German Gymnastic Federation (Deutsche Turner-Bund). Main areas of research: sport pedagogy, integration in sports, ethnicity and sports, American sports, sport and health, gender studies and various aspects of skiing. She is the review editor of the Journal of Sport History. |
