Bio: Founded in 1830, Capital University is a mid-sized, comprehensive, private university whose community values of diversity, free inquiry, ethical reflection and civic engagement reflect its identity as a university of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The University offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in an atmosphere of personal attention to students. The academic units at Capital University include The College and the Law School. Five schools comprise The College: Conservatory of Music and School of Communication; School of Humanities; School of Management and Leadership; School of Natural Sciences, Nursing, and Health; and School of Social Sciences and Education. The University enrolls approximately 3,700 students, including 2,200 traditional undergraduates. It ranked 19th among Midwest Regional Universities in the U.S. News 2011 Best Colleges listing.
