Bio: I have been involved with H-Net since 1996 when I first posted a query to the H-Env list for advice on my M.A. thesis. The helpful replies opened my eyes to the professional resources H-Net provides. Since that time I have subscribed to and participated in a number of lists and have served as a book review editor for H-Environment and Vice President for Research and Publications. I believe H-Net is uniquely positioned among scholarly media to promote the interdisciplinary nature of the Humanities and to continue to advance the accessibility of information. As an entity able to speak across the Humanities, H-Net is an ideal place for the discussion of questions of ethics and professional responsibility as well as the accumulation of knowledge. Dr. Benac is associate professor of history and public history coordinator at Western Michigan University where studies the intersection of environmental and public history, with particular emphases in historic preservation and forest history. |
