Bio: Currently, I am a PhD candidate working on my dissertation at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I have a B.A. in English and German from Oklahoma Baptist University and an M.A. in German from the University of Massachusetts (UMass). I am also finishing up an M.L.I.S. degree from Simmons college. I have been a teaching associate at UMass for six years, where I have taught all levels of the German language. I have also taught a poetry course and am teaching a course based on genre and media. In addition to teaching at UMass, I also recently began teaching World Literature at Westfield State College (in Westfield, MA). I have helped plan and host three graduate conferences here at UMass, and have participated in numerous professional conferences, most recently at the Medieval Congress in Kalamazoo, MI in 2008. I will be presenting a paper entitled "The Heart of the Matter: The Use of Physical Metaphors to Describe the Internal Self" at the Medieval Congress in Kalamazoo this coming May. |
