Bio: Degrees earned/pursuing -University of Texas at Arlington, 2001-2006 BA in Art History -MA Art History Program, University of North Texas, 2007-Present Specialization in Modern and Contemporary Art Pertinent Published Articles -“David Hockney, Etching/Lithograph 1973, 1973,” label, Collections, Cultures and Collaborations, exhibition, University of North Texas, February – March, 2008. Researched and wrote a 1,000-word scholarly essay on an undocumented, unstudied work in the permanent collection of the University of North Texas Art Gallery. Professional Experience -February 2008-Present Research Assistant under Dr. Jennifer Way, Associate Professor of art history for the College of Visual Arts and Design at the University of North Texas. This project consisted of creating an online village on Vista that combined teaching and providing research resources on Modernism and Post-Modernism to be used for ART 4372 and ART 4374 in the Fall 2008 semester. This project involved working closely with Dr. Way, as well independently on the given project. The flexible hours required the ability to use free time wisely as the majority of the assignments were done independently, with a fixed deadline. -August 2007-Present Teaching Assistant for the College of Visual Arts and Design at the University of North Texas. During the Fall 2007 semester I worked under Professor Ibarra for his introductory art history course, as well as Amy Crossno for the online version of a similar course. The online course requires me to monitor my free time wisely, as that is when I am to read and answer questions from the students, as it is an online course my answers have to be polite as well as being as helpful and easily understood as possible. -February 2003- May 2006 Assistant in the Art History Slide library under Rita Lasater. I worked with the slide collection by maintaining, cleaning, refileing and repairing images utilized by the faculty. -June-August 2005 Arlington Museum of Art Intern and Teaching Assistant. Assistant to Joyce Martin, education director for the Arlington Museum of Art for the summer Art Camp program, responsible for setting up and dismantling weekly exhibitions of the students work, organizing supplies, preparing museum member packets, archiving past press-releases and various exhibition paraphernalia. |
