Bio: I hold BAs in English, Theology, and English Education, an MA in English Literature, and a PhD in English with a creative writing emphasis. I teach writing and lit courses at Dakota State University, South Dakota's flagship university for integrating technology into higher education, and the region's only NSA-certified university. Faculty here are expected to utilize advanced technology regardless of discipline. I received a 2007 Governor's Seed Grant to develop software to speed and improve the feedback process in assessing writing. I teach online, hybrid, and traditional English classes. I am very familiar with MSDOS (all versions) and every iteration of the Windows OS; I am functional in Mac, Linux, and UNIX, but only an amateur. I am very familiar with PC hardware, having never bought a full PC since 1992. I have since then upgraded and done the labor myself. I can write simple programs in Basic and Pascal, and the NSIS scripting language. I have published both critical and creative work, and have presented at regional, national, and international conferences. I have also taught English and Speech at the high school level. |
