Bio: BA, MA, PhD, Dlitt. 15 books authored and edited. Over 100 articles and chapters in books published. Former editor of the journal "History". Several Fellowships held in the USA and a visiting professor there. Past President of the Historical Association of the UK and twice a Voice President of the Royal Historical Society. Taught at University of Edinburgh for 40 years (a full professor for 26 years)and a Concurrent Professor at Nanjing University, China since 1987. Conference papers in over a dozen countries. Worked at the Quality Audit Agency, Research Assessment Exercise and Teaching Quality Assessment execrise in the UK. |
