Bio: B.S., History, University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. M.A., History, Northeastern University Ph.D., Military History, City University of New York Currently the 2005-6 Ramsey Fellow in Naval Aviation History at the National Air & Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institute, working on the development of early US Navy jet fighters. I plan to combine this work with my dissertation studies on early Air Force jet fighters to produce a multi-volume work. Finishing a book for the National Guard, working title - "In Defense of Freedom - The National Guard and Homeland Defense". The emphasis of this work is on the Civil Support Teams, Guard units designed to respond to possible terrorist attacks and test for the presence of biological, chemical, or radiation weapons. Article: "Foundation of the Future: The Development of US Air Force First Generation Jet Fighter Aircraft, 1941-50". Accepted for publication in "Aviation History". Paper: "The Quest for the Grail: The United States Air Force and the Search for the Ultimate Aerial Weapon" presented at the 2004 meeting of the Society of Military History. Teaching: a wide variety of courses at a number of schools, mostly while finishing my doctorate.
