Bio: BLA from Connecticut College, in Anthropology; MLS from University of Rhode Island. I continue to take non-degree courses at local colleges and Universities. I gave a paper [Documentation Issues Concerning Tribal History and Recognition] on the importance of using original documents and the value of searching foeign repositories at the SAA August 2004 Conference in Boston; I am part of the board for the Stanton-Davis useum in Pawcatuck. This dwelling of Thomas Stanton, the original interpreter between the Indians in CT for the settlers, has been in the same family for 350 +/- years. It has passed its final hurdle with the Stonington P & Z Commission this past Tuesday; I collected and put together a sample of plantlife of this area, and the puposes for which these materials were used. I currently have responsibility for a circulating and reference library;; rare books, documents and maps; and the 3-D organic collection of the Mohegan Tribe. |
