Gilbert A. Quintero <gilbert.quintero[at]umontana.edu> University of Montana I am interested in sociocultural dimensions of illness, particularly the interplay between cultural values, social behavior, and disease processes. A majority of my research has centered on the study of alcohol and drug use, sexuality, and HIV transmission. Within this domain my research has included a wide range of activities, including the development of HIV and substance abuse prevention programs, the exploration of the social context of alcohol and drug use and sexual activity among Hispanic college students, the evaluation of prevention programs directed at minority populations and youth, and studies of cultural aspects of addiction among Hispanic and Native American men. |
