Bio: My field qualifications for this service include the courses that I teach in the dept. of Humanities Computing at Groningen University. These courses deal with computing applied to History and Art History. Specific examples of this interest can also be found in my research on the use of information technology in the analysis of urban form transformation a.k.a. urban morphology. The main publication (in Dutch) is my thesis on this subject, published in 2001 that is focussed on the way how historical maps can be digitized, registered and overlayed for comparisson. I have published severall shorter articles on this subject over the last years. Since 1996 I have been webmaster for the International Seminar on Urban Form (http://www.let.rug.nl/isuf/) and since 2001 also for the Association for History and Computing (http://www.let.rug.nl/ahc/). |
