Jennifer V. Evans <jennifer_evans@carleton.ca> Carleton University I teach a variety of courses in 20th century German history with a primary area of interest in the history of sexuality. My book, Life Among the Ruins: Cityscape and Sexuality in Cold War Berlin (Palgrave Macmillan, 2011) explores the reemergence of the city’s various subcultures in the aftermath of World War II. I have written about the regulation of same-sex sexuality in Nazi and post-1945 Germany and am preparing a manuscript on pink triangle victims after Hitler. My next two research projects are contemporary in focus. One explores the use of web 2.0 in countering the rise of neo-Nazism while the other analyzes 1970s and 1980s queer erotic photography as a form of self-actualization. |
