Bio: I hold a Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies from the University of Wisconsin (1971). I have published 20 books, more than 50 articles and chapters, and more than 50 scholarly reviews. I have presented over fifty papers at conferences. I am editor emeritus of two online journals: the Journal of Buddhist Ethics and the Journal of Global Buddhism. I hold the Charles Redd Endowed Chair in Religious Studies at Utah State University. Before that, I was a professor at Penn State University for 35 years, but have also held the Numata Chair in Buddhist Studies at Calgary (1993) and a Rockefeller National Humanities Fellowship at the University of Toronto (1997-98). |
