Bio: I am currently writing my dissertation for a Ph.D. in cultural anthropology at MSU. I conducted 18 months of field research in Senegal on the impact of decentralization, privatization, and SAPs on rural and urban women's health. My research was supported by NSF, Fulbright-Hays, and the Social Science Research Council. I have worked at Matrix for four years as coordinator of the Africa Internet Connectivity Project. I have been the key resource person who organized four workshops which brought numerous African academics, archivists, librarians, and activists to MSU for internet training. Most recently we hosted ten women activists from Ghana, Mali, Nigeria, and Senegal. |
